Vacancy for Technical Analyst (Digital Preservation) at the British Library

OPF member, the British Library are recruiting for a Technical Analyst in their digital preservation team.

This is a great opportunity to help contribute to the preservation of our digital library content. As a technical analyst within the digital preservation team, you will help investigate digital preservation challenges faced by the library, using your analytical expertise and research skills to understand and explain the problems and solutions. Liaising closely with other Library colleagues, you will utilise your growing understanding of digital preservation challenges and solutions to contribute to the development and improvement of preservation processes and standards across the library.

Possessing excellent research and analytical skills, you will be confident in applying your technical expertise to investigating relevant challenges, relating both practical and theoretical results to derive potential risks and mitigation strategies. Your strong software development skills will enable you to quickly analyse large data sets and identify trends, as well as let you debug and enhance existing software tools relevant to the preservation of our digital collections. You will have good knowledge and experience of managing digital content, and be able to demonstrate excellent team-working and communication skills, being able to convey your interest in the long term preservation of our digital heritage collections.
