JHOVE 1.32 Release Candidate Out Now

The release candidate for JHOVE 1.32 is now available for testing. JHOVE is an open-source file format identification, validation and characterisation tool for digital preservation and part of the OPF reference toolset

Version 1.32 contains the following changes:

  • JHOVE output complies with v1.0.0 of the Audio Engineering Society metadata schema.
  • Improvements and bug fixes for error reporting in the PDF Module.
  • A fix to allow the parsing of PDF v2 dates correctly.
  • The HTML module now correctly handles XHTML without the optional XML declaration.
  • XML module entity resolution now supports new redirect HTTP codes and multiple redirects.
  • The TIFF module now reports TIFF strip tags correctly.
  • The TIFF module handling of out-of-range orientation tag values has been improved.
  • Fixed an issue handling badly formed dates in the EPUB module.
  • Reverted the reporting of XML module SAX errors.
