Overview

Job title:​ Content  Manager

Hours:​ Part-time (24 hours per week) possibly leading to full-time. 

Contract type:​ Permanent

Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 F/T (£13,500 to £16,000 pro rata) depending on skills and experience 

Reports to:​ Executive Director  

Location:​ Homeworking, UK or EU based with occasional travel within the UK or Europe.

Job purpose

The Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) is looking for a creative and versatile Content Manager to produce engaging digital and print materials for the Foundation, its members, and the wider digital preservation community. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivery of digital and print content including marketing campaigns, publications and communications activities across OPFs channels and platforms
  • Managing OPF’s social media channels and coordinating campaigns
  • Overseeing the planning and delivery of events and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Supporting the operational and administrative functions of the organisation

About you

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in producing content and communications across a range of platforms and formats. You will have a keen interest in marketing techniques and trends and a passion for creating new content. You will be confident in bringing new ideas to the team to showcase our brand and membership benefits in creative and innovative ways. 

You will be creative, with a flair for design and a good working knowledge of video editing techniques. 

Your strong communication skills will enable you to proactively work with our community of members, partners, and collaborators across world-leading memory institutions. 

You will need to be highly organised with the ability to plan and execute an exciting programme of events and initiatives that meet the needs of our members and the community. 

You will be used to working with a degree of autonomy and possess the drive to take on a range of tasks and develop new skills as appropriate.

The OPF is an international not-for-profit membership organisation providing open source digital preservation technology and knowledge to memory institutions around the world. 

We are working towards achieving our vision for open, sustainable digital preservation by leading a collaborative effort to create, develop, and sustain open-source digital preservation tools and resources.

Founded in 2010 as a collaborative initiative, working with others continues to be an essential part of our approach to developing practical solutions and best practice. We have over 30 members in 17 countries, primarily from the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums sector. We choose to work on projects and initiatives that align with our member priorities and our open source philosophy, delivering benefits to the whole community.
