Announced at the ‘SUCCEED in Digitisation, Spreading Excellence’ conference at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris, the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) and IMPACT Centre of Competence in Digitisation (IMPACT) have signed an Agreement of Alliance to strengthen their collaboration and enhance their respective membership benefits.
‘This Agreement supports our strategic plan 2015-18’ comments Ed Fay, Executive Director of OPF. ‘The Advocacy and Alliances strand aims to promote synergies in the development of digital practices and technology around the world. We are looking forward to working more closely with IMPACT and aligning our activities to add value to both our memberships’.
The Agreement commits the two organisations to sharing resources and delivering at least one event each year to bring together expertise in digital preservation and text digitisation.
IMPACT is an international, not-for-profit membership organisation which make text digitisation better, faster and cheaper by providing online expertise and access to tools for all parts of the digitisation workflow.
